Martin Curiel, a former migrant farm worker and 2004 graduate of Harvard Business School, met with Jess to exchange ideas about promoting his nonprofit and the Migrant MBA Project he started in 2005. The Migrant MBA program seeks to promote graduate business degrees among sons and daughters of migrant and seasonal farm workers.


communication solution:

Because Martin had first hand experience on the harsh life of a farm laborer, DURAN MEDIA was able to use his unique “story” on radio, TV, and print to talk about the issues faced by migrant workers while addressing the positive and social change his nonprofit would create for America. Using traditional media  Martin  directed potential donors to the organization’s website (new mediawhere a social media community space was formed with both the donor and the student farmworker.


National exposure. SacTown Mag, La Opinion, Impremedia, NBC, CBS, ABC, Telemundo, Univision and Radio Bilingue. Online donations increased.
